Cynthia began her career as a model New York. Within a few months Cynthia signed a five-year agreement for a 5-year contract with Wihelmina Models. It led to a hugely profitable book as well as a the cover of Essence Magazine. Cynthia's first cover was among Essence's most popular covers and one of the most requested by then editor-in-chief Susan Taylor. Cynthia secured her second Essence cover shortly thereafter and set up the foundation for her long-term career. Her next move was to Paris and Milan, in which she strutted on the runways during Paris and Milan Fashion Week. Cynthia spent almost a whole year living abroad. After her return she was a huge hit. She was hired to do campaigns with Maybelline Oil of Olay Macy's. Elle's, Glamour's, Essence's and Vanity Fair magazine editorials soon were followed. Cynthia was a part unforgettable professional moments. She was picked over Naomi Campbell, for a performance as Sandra Bernhadt opposite in the film "Without You - I am Nothing."
