Becki Newton
Becki was raised and born on the island of Guilford (Connecticut) but she originated from New Haven. Her parents are of English as well as Czech heritage. She started performing in local theatres. European History. Newton in European History, who was an Penn student, was also in the fraternity Alpha Chi Omega. Newton following her graduation from Penn University in 2006 transferred from Penn to New York City where she got TV roles for firms like Olive Garden. Newton took on the role Amanda Tanen on the comedy-drama Ugly Betty series from 2006 through 2010. Newton was host of the official Ugly Betty podcast together with Co-star Michael Urie. She was also a part of ABC.com's Mode After Hours webisode series. Ugly Betty, which had 4 seasons of success by the time it ended it was canceled in the year 2010. The cancellation allowed the show to be given a proper conclusion. Newton had her New York City Center encores debut in the year 2009. show of the Gershwin musical Girl Crazy, which was produced by Jerry Zaks. Newton was the character Molly Gray and performed opposite real-life husband Chris Diamantopoulos. Newton made an appearance in Love Bites. The show, which ran for an hour, was created by the executive producer Cindy Chupack, who worked on Sex and the City. NBC announced the continuation of the series in the month of May 2010.However it was cancelled after Newton having announced her pregnancy co-star Jordana Spiro was contractually bound to remain on her previous series My Boys (which later was eventually cancelled) as well as Chupack's wish to exit the show Love Bites was pushed back to mid-season.
